Mother Daughter Time

For the first time since my daughter has been born I took a day off from work to spend time with her. It was probably one of the best days of my life and I'm so glad I did it. Generally, I give my daughter my Saturdays and of course Sundays are family days.

For all of you who have little ones I believe you are probably QUITE familiar with The Backyardigans. Well if you didn't know they are on tour. Everytime they come on my baby sings along and dances with them and just totally stops everything she's doing. Well one night I went to Nickelodeon's website and found out that they were going to Waco. Waco, is about 2 hours from me but I decided I'd get up early that morning and take the drive so my baby could see The Backyardigans. God, that was one of the best choices I made in my life. When we got there Jordy could not stop smiling and laughing. She was beside herself with joy. Afterwards we went and ate (at Mickey D's) and played in the jungleyard. When we got back we went and got our hair done. Well I got my hair done and my hairdresser put some oil in her scalp and ran the blowdryer on cool and blew it over her body. LOL Later on we got our toes done with pink and white flowers. You know what, Jordy wasn't the only person that was excited that day.

I posted this to say that I know when you are a career mom that it's really hard to balance work and life but somehow we have to find the time to do it all. As we climb up that corporate ladder we have to remember that we have to climb in the sandbox from time to time and play Barbie and Dora with our little princesses.

So in closing ladies pull our your dayplanners and pda's right now and schedule AT LEAST four MD (mommy daughter days) for you and your little one. Remember she will only be this age for a year.

Love and Harmony!
